My Students

Developing a love of reading in intermediate students often takes encouragement, persistence, and always great books. I want to provide books for my students that will capture their imaginations and create a love of reading.

Our school is a loving place where children are encouraged to do their best.

We have a little more than 50% of our students on free/reduced lunch, but what we lack in means we make up for in determination. Our students come from many different backgrounds and cultures. One thing we all share is a dedication to learning.

My Project

The award winning books that I have requested will give my students access to great books that they might not have otherwise. Learning to read is the cornerstone for success in life. Learning to read is more than being able to say the words, but it is thinking about what the author is saying and discussing it with classmates. With your help, my students will have this chance.

Not only will these books help my students, they will help students for years to come.

I once had a student that would not finish a book. She just needed to find that special book that captured her heart and imagination. She now loves to read. This is what good books do for children. Your help can make this possible. Thank you so much.
