My Project
We are only a few weeks into the new school year, and I already know my class is going to be challenging. I have never had so many students who lack confidence, have no motivation to learn, and have very few independent skills. I am on the struggle bus to come up with new ways to help promote these skills. In addition, I have numerous boys with ADHD and two students with autism. Needless to say, my days are often long. I find myself spending more time correcting behaviors versus teaching. After researching some ideas, I would like to set up a school store. My students can earn "money" for positive behavior or by displaying independent skills. At the end of the week, they can visit the store to earn prizes. If they want to, they can save their money for bigger prizes. I will also be getting some math skills in while they visit the store. Most of the items in my cart will go into the school store. The other items, such as the laminating pouch, will allow me to laminate the fake money. I do have a wonderful group of students. They are very caring and loving, but I do need your help. Help me so I can inspire and motivate them to enjoy and love school.
