Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students can photoshop you in a photograph with Barack Obama, Lady Gaga or Ghandi, thanks to the passion our Tech teacher continues to spread to our students. Even with outdated computers, our students can create commercials, high quality fliers, learn photography and more.
A majority of our students live in low-income, inner-city communities.
80% of our student population qualify for free lunch. Under those challenges, our students still upwardly progress to be great learners and artists. They are our photographers, photo editors and promoters. They use these skills to help bring solutions to the problems in our community.
My Project
Using photoshop is a skill that many of our students can master, and produce creative photographs, web and advertisement projects. They learn through hands-on practice and through online tutorials created by our Tech teacher. However, with a failing laptop, the struggles to create online tutorials are frustrating. We are in need of new laptop to continue teaching our students photoshop, use google programs and learn business advertisement 101.
With a new laptop, our students will continue to receive amazing instruction in photoshop.
They can continue to produce amazing projects used to advertise for our school, educate others through art and learn a skill that can impact their careers. Our Tech teacher will continue to share his knowledge to help our students acquire skills needed today in the 21st century.
