Fluorescent lighting may brighten our rooms, but they also dim our minds. Spending hours under harsh lighting is hard on our eyes, which causes eye strain, headaches, and fatigue. I would like to purchase light covers for my classroom. They are easy to install in minutes with magnets that attach to the light fixtures.
Classrooms should be a warm, comfortable, inviting space.
Children spend the majority of their day in a classroom. Along with giving my students engaging lessons that grow their knowledge, they also need a space to help that knowledge grow in an optimal way.
I like to think of my students as little plants. Plants need air, soil, water, and light to grow. The classroom is the air (and the pot). The curriculum is the is the soil that feeds the children knowledge. The teacher is the water who sprinkles the children with love and who also keeps the soil fresh so it can continue to feed the children. Finally, plants (children) need light. Light is so important for all living things, but not all light is good for us. Fluorescent lights are so harsh. I want my little plants to grow and thrive, but that is hard to do when their eyes are strained and tired.
The light covers make the fluorescent lights softer and more pleasant. The covers I have chosen have wonderful messages like, "It's a beautiful day for learning" and "I am so glad you are here." Some of them have Pete the Cat riding his skateboard.
