My Project

Storywalks displayed in the school hallways are engaging-- teachers bring their classes to read the book and answer critical thinking-based questions. Picture books that support the classroom standards, even at the high school level, are essential.

Picture books are a valuable teaching tool, and they can be used for every high school subject.

Our teachers appreciate the library supporting their lessons by adding another opportunity to reinforce what they are doing in the classroom. And students enjoy picture books-- not just the text and information, but the lovely illustrations that support the story. In fact, students learn how illustrations can subtly help explain the story-- help students with context cues.

And of course, we want to inspire our students not just with picture books, but with mirror decals in the restrooms, and magnetic frames to display student work.
