This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Welcome to my classroom and spy my awesome 1st-3rd graders exploring, developing and loving to learn. All of my students have Individualized Education Plans that focus on their unique learning needs.

In addition, my students come from diverse racial and economic backgrounds and experiences.

We are lucky that our district places a big focus on equity for all students. My goal is to make sure they have access to the same educational opportunities and experiences as their general education peers and that these opportunities and experiences include access to diversity through all of our learning experiences.

I am requesting an Inspiration Station for my young learners. This will serve as the central focal point of our whole group classroom instruction including, story time, music, morning meeting and other classroom activities. The Inspiration Station includes a magnetic white board, extensions for writing space, accommodations for a flip chart, storage, and a reading ledge to support all of the diverse books we like to read. These are just a few of the amazing inspirational learning opportunities my students will have.

The Inspiration Station will encourage my diverse students with disabilities to continue learning, reading, and writing about all types of people. Some like them and some not. Your donation helps them continue to grow through literacy, arts and academics.
