I teach an inclusive first grade classroom in a large urban school district in Pennsylvania.
Though my students do not lack curiosity or energy, they do lack the materials that would bring our science curriculum to life.
Imagine a child's excitement as she observes the life cycle of a butterfly and records her observations in a science journal. Or picture a little boy's face as he holds an authentic fossil in his hand - just like the one pictured in our textbook!! As we watch our bean plants grow, we will explore some of the mysteries of our natural world.
