My Students

Hello, meet room 204 first- grade at BES. My scholars are inquisitive and creative. They love learning! When I read to them it seems as if their whole world is enhanced (lightens up.) They love talking to one another and playing at recess. All of them are from the south side of Chicago, half are in school for The Very First Time after nearly a two year pandemic.

They love reading and writing stories.

I instill in them that, "school is for learning." My scholars are absolutely a great group of children. They lack some essential tools for learning in My First Grade Scholars are going on a challenge next week to read 30 days. We can't wait!

My Project

These materials will make a significant difference in our classroom. We have an old worn carpet. My wonderful scholars deserve a chance to engage in learning sitting on a new and engaging carpet. This will really make a difference because they love listening to books on the carpet and talking to their friends. Also, the literacy materials will be a "big deal," for them. They are learning to read and now understand that the purpose of school is for learning. These materials will allow them to thrive at school and beyond.
