My students need 20 subscriptions to Let's Find Out, Kindergarten to learn about science and social studies topics. Let's Find Out will provide more activities to reach this goal.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. Since I teach at a Title I school, for many of my students, this is the only chance that they have to be exposed to books and any academic materials.
Many of the students within the school are English language learners.
Because of this, it is important to provide many different ways for the students to learn the material being presented. Many of the projects that I will be posting will help me reach this goal.
My Project
I am requesting 20 subscriptions to Let's Find Out, Kindergarten to learn about science and social studies topics. Let's Find Out magazine teaches early learners how to read while keeping them engaged. Each issue builds foundational reading skills with exciting nonfiction and developmentally appropriate activities based on state and national standards.
Let's Find Out will allow each student to have a magazine to take home after the lesson that they can share with their families.
Teachers are also able to use lesson plans that are created for each magazine and resources are available online. There are lesson plans that focus on sight words, phonics, and fluency. New vocabulary words are also highlighted throughout the magazines. These lesson plans also help develop critical thinking skills.
