Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a school librarian, I make a positive impact on all 600 students in our learning community. They show up to the library bright-eyed and eager to communicate, collaborate, and learn. The library is the heart of the school and a safe place where students can build a love of reading. My students have a wide variety of learning styles and levels. Each one is unique, and everyone in the library respects each other. I care about my students, and they know it!
My goal is to encourage students to become independent and lifelong readers and learners.
At the library, students enjoy reading a good book, being innovators, problem solvers, and critical thinkers. I especially love that they are creative and try their best on everything that comes their way. I want my students to remember me when they grow up, so I make them feel welcome, safe, and important on a daily basis.
My Project
The start of this school year will be very different from most other years. Not only will I be the school librarian and make an impact on the entire learning community for the first time, but also school will begin virtually. My district has decided that we need to use Google Meets instead of Zoom to connect with students. While practicing using Google Meets at home, I discovered that when I share my screen with my students I will not be able to see all of my students' faces. I am requesting this monitor so that it can be hooked up to my computer as an extra screen to see all students.
My goal is to deliver quality virtual lessons to my students.
As a school librarian while distance teaching, I will be responsible for teaching my students skills they need to be successful. That includes building a love of reading, literacy and information literacy development, financial literacy, research, and so much more. This monitor will give me the opportunity to see all of the students interact and work. I would greatly appreciate your support with this project.
