Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Next year, I will be teaching a 4th and 5th grade Mild to Moderate Autism classroom with a total of 12 students. Each one of my students is unique and brings their own strengths, needs, and learning styles to the classroom. To support their growth and engagement, they need access to a variety of tools and materials that help them fully participate in learning.

Having access to STEM materials such as magnetic building tiles, LEGO robotics kits, and other hands-on resources would be incredibly valuable.

These tools would give my students meaningful opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, and math in ways that are accessible, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.

In addition to deepening their understanding of STEM concepts, these materials would also help develop essential skills like fine motor coordination, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and social-emotional learning. Most importantly, they would open doors to curriculum content that my students might not have been able to access before, helping to build confidence and a love for learning.
