My Project
Every morning my students walk through the door excited to see what the day has in store. They are eager learners who thrive on hands-on experiences. They are creative and love any and all art that I can integrate into their learning. Third graders also love to explore and are becoming much more in tune with their own individuality.
By allowing them hands-on, creative ways to learn, students will make meaningful connections and gain knowledge in a way that will help them not only in third grade but as they continue their education in the future.
Interactive notebooking is a method of providing practice activities, note-taking, and educational instruction in a way that resonates with students. By creating a learning log of sorts, students are then able to see not only what they have accomplished but they can use it as a resource when they need a refresh on a topic.
These colored pencils, makers, pens, glue sticks, and "big kid" scissors will help them create their own notebook of knowledge. These notebooks become very personal to each student and provide them with an opportunity to be creative in their thinking and assessment of understanding, motivating them to continue their and expand their understanding of reading, writing, and mathematics.
