My Students
Since returning to the public school classroom three years ago I've tirelessly worked to grow differentiated instruction through technology in my classroom and at my school.
Instruction through technology is a game changer for many students caught in the margins of struggle or boredom.
I've witnessed struggling students thrive and make significant shifts in their mindset towards all learning because of this environment. It's as if the playing field was leveled for them!
Additionally, I've seen many capable and gifted and talented students learn perseverance, collaboration, strengthen critical thinking skills that otherwise go to the wayside with traditional education that comes naturally to them. I love to watch students unlock a depth of curiosity so much so that his year I'm launching the first Lego robotics team for elementary students in our district!
Through these years I've written and been awarded grants to bring technology into my second grade classroom. Its been my pleasure to learn to provide such instruction through Lego robotics and Sphere Sprk + to my second grade students as well as the other two second grade classes, but I have so much more to learn in order to utilize these resources for meaningful learning opportunities!
My Project
Most of what I've learned about utilizing technology like Lego robotics and coding through Sphero SPRK+ I've learned through trial and error.
Through the Innovation in Education conference I'll have an opportunity to be the student and hone my instructional practices.
Growing my skillset to deliver differentiated instruction through the technology I ALREADY HAVE in my classroom will impact learners for a lifetime!
Not all conferences are alike and I've spent time researching conferences that would stretch my mind the entire time. The Innovation in Education conference if packed with robust opportunity to grow and I need to be there!
