This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come into my classroom everyday eager to learn.
They believe in themselves and support each other.
That is the environment I have developed in my classroom. It is all about supporting each other. My students are not afraid of making mistakes because they believe they learn from them.
I teach at a Title I school in AZ, where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Despite of some hardships my students face, they are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn and be successful in a 21st Century classroom that is full with opportunities to learn.
My Project
An innovation classroom will open the possibility to my students to be exposed to today's technology and to utilize it for their own learning. Students will make a better connection to what they are learning. As second language learners, my students need visuals that will engage them in their learning and having a classroom with updated technology will support them tremendous.
Having the possibility to utilize an iPad and a projector in our classroom will facilitate and support my students to make better connections to what they are learning.
Every 4 weeks our students have projects and presentations that they need to conduct. Students will be able to utilize the iPad to create their own presentations and be able to project their presentations to the whole class by utilizing the projector. Also, it will facilitate the students learning by utilizing the iPad and projector as a camera to project weekly vocabulary, math problems, our writing mentor, etc...
My students and myself would greatly appreciate these items to help better our classroom and the quality of the materials we use daily.
