This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach at a Title I high school. My special needs students with neurological differences learn best through visual stimulation and exposure to kinesthetic opportunities. They are enrolled in resource/CTE classes. These courses focus on basic academic skills (core classes), independent living skills, organizational skills, and employability skills.
The purpose of adding an Epson Eco Tank 2800 printer to our classroom’s Cricut Station is to highlight their interest in technology and expose them to the wonderful crafts that can be done with sublimation printing.
The process of sublimation is interesting within itself but to be able to see their crafts transform right in front of their eyes would be more meaningful and impactful in the learning process.
Teaching my students employable skills is also very important to me. Having an Epson Eco Tank 2800 to create sublimation crafts will expand the resources available to them and allows me to continue to teach employability skills and for them to gain vocational skills along the way.
