My Students
It is disturbing to me that the majority of our students are struggling to receive the best education possible while dealing with the circumstances of living in a poor and overcrowded school district. Some of our students with social-emotional and health problems are living out of a bag and moving from shelter to shelter while trying to feel and look their best.
To date, some of our students are being moved around from shelter to shelter, and there are living out of a bag.
To support my students who are in desperate need of clean clothing, I am requesting a dryer and washing machine along with a variety of soap and fabric softeners.
My Project
Cleanliness usually takes the place of most behavioral problems. My project is geared towards supporting our students who are living in unstable and unhealthy conditions. Our students are directly affected by the hard choices their parent(s) must make; Like paying rent and utilities vs. putting food on the table and washing and drying clothes. With that said, our students are in desperate need of clean clothing; I am requesting a dryer and washing machine along with laundry detergent and fabric softeners to improve their overall health and wellness. When our students feel clean and confident about themselves, they want to return to school the next day to be actively engaged in lessons that are being taught.
