This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a Kindergarten teacher at a small inner city elementary school in a high poverty area of Los Angeles. We have been greatly affected by the budget cuts to education in California. My school is unable to purchase the extra resources that my students need to learn to read & write.

My students are eager to learn to read and write!

They are intelligent. Their parent's are struggling to provide their families with the most basic essential needs. They are unable to provide their children with resources or trips to enrich their learning.

My Project

We will use the magic boards to practice writing words and sentences on a daily basis. These magic boards will help us use less paper to save our planet. The ABC trace letters, ABC maze, teaching tubs and highlighting tape will help my student's learn and recognize the alphabet. The write and wipe boards, triangular pencils and paper will help my students learn how to write letters, words and sentences. They will use the flannel board to explore letters and retell stories using flannel characters.

Your generous donation will help my students become proficient readers and writers.

These resources will provide them with the tools they need to become successful in school. These resources will also provide them with daily practice of these essential skills.
