This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach an inquisitive, technologically-curious class of bilingual third graders, who are learning not only in their primary language, but also mastering English.
One of the ways in which these students acquire vocabulary and writing skills is through the use of pictures and books about their home life, which are printed on our class printers. However, the ink for these printers is very expensive, and we run out of paper quite often.
Ink cartridges and copy paper will ensure that my third graders are able to print their stories, writing assignments, and pictures from home in order to bring their own experiences and prior knowledge to the classroom.
With your help, I can continue to successfully integrate writing with primary and second language learning, so that my third graders become truly fluent and bilingual.
