Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I create my own materials with students' specific interests to motivate them during speech sessions, such as Mickey Mouse matching or car articulation cards. Additionally, I create handouts that are educational for staff and parents to teach them how to model language, and use AAC devices across all areas of the day. I also provide visuals to different cluster teachers such as art and science, to make their materials adapted to my students with disabilities. This helps the students understand what they are learning and promotes carryover in class and at home.
