Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The majority of the students at our school are receiving free or reduced-rate lunches. The students in our school are well-behaved and are always looking for a challenge. Our school is located in a central part of the city where many cultures live together.
Our school is unique because, even with such a diverse population, the students manage to get along and do the job that is expected from each and every one of them.
We are fortunate to have an after-school science club that serves students from 4th and 5th grades. This club challenges students through STEAM-related activities and competitions.
My Project
In our class we have a color printer that uses a lot of ink. The printer is used daily to print math activities that we use at math centers and skills building work. We also use the printer to print student work that they create.
Printer ink is a valuable resource for the classroom.
Students can show their creativity and learning by having tactual information in color. Unfortunately, the printer uses a lot of ink and we run out of the ink very quickly. Students love to touch their work and get there eyes off a screen.
