This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like when you were in school? Do you remember what supplies you were required to have in class? The families in my classroom struggle to purchase most of the required materials needed for success in the classroom.
I am an elementary school kindergarten teacher in a high needs school in New York.
I just finished my 2nd year as a general education teacher at my school. Next year my class size will be increasing from 16 to about 27, which means double the amount that needs to be printed. My classroom is in desperate need of ink, a lot of ink!
My Project
A classroom must have a fully functioning printer in order to create items to enhance students' learning, provide students with practice, and communicate with parents. This past school year my class was lucky enough to fill a project and receive a printer through Donorschoose.org, but in order to reap the benefits of the printer, like being able to print homework and notes home, my class needs black and color ink, lots and lots of ink. Being able to print in the classroom makes a huge difference in my everyday teaching!
No school year is as important as kindergarten!
This is the year that will shape a child's attitude about school and about learning. Making it the most positive and nurturing experience is a way to insure that these children will continue to love learning and strive to do their best in school. It is essential that students have access to a variety of learning materials. By supporting this project, you are helping to unlock the many resources that will be printed for my students this year.
