This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A typical day for my students is structured. They have various disabilities that range from autism and speech and language. Individual schedules have helped the children become accustomed to a regular school day. They benefit from repetition on every newly taught skill.
I teach a second through third grade 12:1:1 class with students who have been diagnosed with autism, speech and language impairments, and intellectually disabilities.
When fully engaged, these boys and girls can all learn. The school does not have enough money to purchase ink and paper and a majority of my students require pictures to help them recognize and learn different skills while using constant repetition.
My Project
We are requesting ink cartridges, paper, and laminating pouches to hopefully get through the school year. It will be used to print assignments, work tasks, and symbols to help recognize new vocabulary, math skills, and so much more. Many of our tasks are laminated so they can last longer and can be reused for child mastery.
This project will make a tremendous difference to my students.
Not only will they have enough paper and ink to last them through the school year, but pictures of them working so hard can be printed and sent home for parents to take a look at what their child is doing in the classroom. I try to involve parents as much as possible, and this will be so beneficial.
