My Students

I have nine students in my self-contained Special Education classroom. I have one student in first grade, six students in second grade, one student in third grade, and one student in fifth grade.

All of my students are in our school because they need a different learning environment to be successful.

In our class, we learn about reading, language, math, science, social studies, and other subjects. We also learn about social skills and coping skills. Each student has special needs and teaching a class with multiple grade levels takes a lot of resources!

My Project

My students need ink for our classroom printer so that they can have access to physical copies. While technology and online books are great resources, there is nothing like holding materials in your hands. Being able to print reading passages, math assignments, art projects, and other items can make a big difference for my students.

All of my students perform better on assignments when they have their own copy to read and write on, and they love getting individualized art projects to cut or color.

Being able to print in the classroom is very important. My students all have special needs, and I am with them throughout the entire day. It is often very difficult to step away to the school printer to get materials. Printing in the classroom saves time. It also helps my students to transition less, which means more successful days.
