This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 1st to 2nd grade students with various disabilities. My students rely on us to assist them in everyday routines. This include going out to their regular education classes, such as P.E., music, library and computers. My students bring smiles to everyone around the school grounds. Teaching them proper manners and etiquette is my main priority. They are slow learners, but they do learn at their own pace. My students are exceptional and unique in their own way.
My Project
Our classroom need ink to make colorful visuals. They can not deal with black and white they need color to improve their motivation. Some students do not know how to communicate, but can use visual icons to communicate with us.
Our students need colorful visual schedules and social stories to have a good day.
Students like to handle their own communication icons when wanted to get what they want and following a schedule that will help them understand the concept of time. Color ink is always a must in our life skills classes. Student enjoy having their own personal binders.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
