Whew! I just finished my 25th year of teaching. I come from a family of teachers. My mom, dad, and three of my five children are teachers, not to mention my two daughters-in-law! I am an ATPE teacher from East Texas. Teaching is a very rewarding job, one of the best in the world. I feel blessed to have this opportunity to serve as a teacher.
This year I am looping from 2nd to 3rd with my class.
This includes two special needs students. My students come from a socio economically disadvantaged district. Many of my students receive free breakfast and lunch - it is a luxury. Some, even receive food “backpacks” for the weekends. We also have a growing Hispanic population. But we are proud to say, through hard work and lots of care, our district has had a 100% graduation rate.
My students feel loved. Tolerance and acceptance is something that is fostered everyday. We live in a small rural community and continue to support former students through school activities such as sports, band and other district activities.
My Project
We will use this ink to print centers to make our skills easier as we learn new things. We can also print flash cards to help us learn our facts. This year we are going to computer as a regular weekly class, so hopefully we will be creating projects to share with their parents and classmates. Some of the ink will also help us make a small memory book to remember our year! And due to budget cuts, the ink will be used to print seasonal activities for each holiday. Copies are in SHORT supply, so by printing in our room, we are assured to get to do those "special" activities 3rd graders love!
Please help my students get the ink that we so desperately need to get us through the school year.
The printer is such an important part of our classroom. The centers, activities and papers we print will REALLY help our class be all it needs to be! Your help will be greatly appreciated!
