This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year my class will consist of Kindergarten to 3rd grade, special needs students in a Title I school on the Lower East Side. All of my students have different levels of disabilities that need to be taught using differentiated teaching.
All of my wonderful students have the desire to learn just like their general education peers.
They try hard on a daily basis and want to do well educationally, emotionally and behaviorally. They celebrate their successes and know when they need extra support to help meet their needs.
My Project
When you have a multi grade classroom filled with students on various levels, you need to have a fully functioning printer filled with ink in order to meet their needs on the fly.
As a special education teacher, the ability to meet my students needs quickly is very important.
I will need to print out various educational hands on materials and games in order for my students to meet their individual goals and comply with the common core standards. The students levels vary in reading, writing and math. I want to provide the very best for the children I call "my kids".
