it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
What would the world be like without music and dance. Everywhere in the world much joy is achieved through music and dance? I want to bring music and dance from around the world into my classroom.
My students attend school in the inner-city.
Their school was recently built among factories, train tracks, and a neighboring soup kitchen. Gang violence is an everyday thing and for many of my students it's the norm. The school they attend is considered Title 1, because the majority of students qualify for free federal lunches.
My Project
I am requesting one iPod touch to hold a collection of multicultural music. I want to introduce my students to music from around the world. I want them to learn that music is very important to all cultural groups and that it has helped for centuries with celebrations and rituals. I also plan to use the iPod to teach my students various dances from around the world. I want my students to explore the world through music. I will teach a dance from each continent to my students and have them learn how through music and dance you can also tell stories.
Please help me teach my students that multiculturalism is a plus.
I want them to see that differences are great attributes. I want them to learn that music and dance from around the world all have a common threat that is feelings.
