Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students enrolled in this middle school are bright, eager, and curious scholars with a desire for learning. Most of these students will be first-generation college students: they know and understand that education is the key to success.
The books in the library should be in decent condition, contain accurate information, and be relevant and engaging.
Though these students live in a poverty-stricken community, their lives are filled with a wealth of resiliency, persistence, and determination. These students deserve to have a library that is a safe, inviting, comfortable space where they can come to read, work independently, or in groups.
My Project
The books in this project will inform our students about various aspects of this magnificently fabulous world. The topics range from science, animals, humans, geography, even dinosaurs. These are all significant areas of exploration that deserve books with powerful imagery and enriching text. Students will have access to these books as they seek to do independent or guided research. They will use these resources as supplemental texts in science, history, and geography classes. Our current library resources do not contain the most up-to-date information; the books in this project will enhance our library collection with relevant and up-to-date information while bedazzling our student's curiosities and thirst for knowledge.
