This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are kindergarten English language learners; many of them are students with special needs. They are so eager to learn to speak, read and write English! They love asking questions and finding out new words and phrases in English that many of us take for granted. Students who have been speaking English longer love to help! It is so exciting to see everyone’s enthusiasm!
My Project
My students live in Corona Ny, which was very hard hit by Covid19. The community is hardworking, but so many do not have money to buy IPads. Some students will be learning in a hybrid setting, in school a few days a week, and home a few days. Others will be fully remote and will be learning at home 5 days a week.
Having an IPad is essential for them to be able to connect with our school.
Without it, they will not be able to get the instruction they need.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
