This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology is the ultimate tool for keeping the students of today engaged in their learning. The future of education has computers all over it. Students need to be exposed to all the opportunities and resources that modern technology has available for them.

I teach a great group of enthusiastic fifth graders in a Title 1 school.

My students love to learn and they deserve to experience the benefits of new technologies. We get to work with computers in the classroom. Students are able to navigate on the computers with ease. Their confidence with computers proves that now it is time they learn about other tools available to them.

My Project

We would like an iPad2 for use in our classroom. Students in our class have heard all about them, but very few of them have actually had the pleasure of using one. This would be great for our classroom because we could download free Apps that would allow students to practice content standards that they have to learn in fifth grade. They could use the Apps for enrichment either in a whole group setting or individually. The portability of the iPad makes it great for sharing.

I can only imagine how excited my students would be to have this great device in our classroom.

Their enthusiasm toward practicing skills and learning new content using the iPad would be amazing. With your help, we could get this great tool into our classroom.
