My Project
My class sessions are not a general education class. I work with Exceptional Education for learners at all skill levels from remedial to advanced. My students come from a 95+% free and reduced socio-economic background. They love SCIENCE and we don't get a lot of resources to do hands-on projects!
Help my students with hands-on experience with the entire plant life cycle from seed to harvest using indoor hydroponics.
I will be teaching the Kratky Growing Method (hydroponics) along with standard soil growing methods. Students will gain knowledge on how to cultivate edible plants from a seed while learning about the entire life cycle of a plant. My hopes is to grow everything to make a delicious salsa from tomatoes, cilantro, green onion, etc so that my students will be able to consume the fruits of their labor as a end-of-project treat.
