My Students
Virtual Learning does not work for Special Education. Our students and families have been suffering. Many Special Educators are left with little to no resources from their district to provide effective learning for their students. General Education students were provided with packets to help facilitate learning at home. Whereas, students in special education were overlooked.
My Project
Distant and virtual learning has been hard for everyone. Students are required to change their normal schedule and routines the they have had for years. It takes a lot out of children with special needs to not only understand what is happening around them, but try to gain sense and adapt to the changes.
I would like to provide each family with activities that will help students growth in one or more of the following areas: reading, writing, mathematics, social emotional learning and sensory exploration.
Each of my students hold different strengths and weaknesses that were not directly addressed by our school district. Providing the families with activities to utilize throughout the remainder of this year and as long as they need to would be an overdue effort.
