This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach in a self-contained special education classroom servicing 2nd-4th graders. My students have individualized plans and goals to meet their needs. Every student, every day needs different lessons, materials, and activities to be successful. My students need basic skills, life skills, and social skills support beyond academic support. Their needs include individualized lesson plans and activities to go with the curriculum provided. These plans come from a site called Teachers Pay Teachers which is half of my projects needs. My students learn in different ways, some need hands-on materials, some need visuals, and others need accommodations such as pictures, manipulatives, or things read aloud to them which is how we will use A Little Spot and other resources. Each student is making growth and learning, just in their own way. They are incredible kids with bright futures.
