My students love the one iPod Touch that we have in our classroom. The problem is that it is hard to share only one iPod Touch. I would like to create a learning center that includes four more iPods, so I can let five students use the apps that I have selected for skill reinforcement.
I have a fantastic group of twenty-two techie second graders.
They love all forms of technology and often tutor me on how to use the latest tech gadgets. Our school is huge with approximately 700 K-5 students. There are five classes at every grade level. The education budgets in our state have been slashed and the picture looks bleak for next year. Acquiring new technology will be very difficult through our annual budget process due to the cuts that will have to be made.
My Project
I would like four iPod Touches for my classroom, so I can create a learning center for my students. The iPod Touches can be used in all subject areas. There are hundreds of educational games for almost every skill that elementary students need to learn. I will be able to download specific apps to match the needs of my students. They will also be able to use them for listening to stories, taking photos and recording each other reading aloud.
I try very hard to acquire the latest technology for my second graders.
These iPod Touches will allow me to differentiate learning in all subjects for my students. I can target specific skills for each child. With your help, we can really "touch" the future by creating an iPod Touch learning center.
