This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a diverse community. My school is a safe place where all members of our diverse community learn side by side with one another. My classroom is an ICT classroom where students with special needs are integrated into a general education classroom.
It is my school's mission to welcome and celebrate all peoples and to nurture them to be more reflective, cooperative, and kindhearted.
More than 96% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
My students will use these Jumbo Journaling and Sketching Books for our upcoming writing unit to create their own independent writing projects.
My students will transfer all they know about fiction, opinion, and nonfiction writing, as they create writing projects of their own.
This is an opportunity for my students to bring forward everything they know about the writing process. My students will create, share, and celebrate their independent writing projects with each other as well. I hope my students see that writing is not something that lives in school, but that writing is a part of their lives.
