I have a diverse group of students in my prek classroom which includes many different levels of learning. My project consists of materials needed for my students to have hands-on experiences while still learning. My students are young and require a wide variety of hands-on play materials to explore without the pieces being misplaced! This project will provide manipulatives for my youngest students to participate in independent work stations while learning in a fun, creative way.
I need to build many opportunities for my students to learn academic skills such as counting, identifying colors and shapes, sorting, and fine motor skills.
Fine motor skills are an everyday task my students work on in the classroom. My younger students will be able to spend their independent work time using materials suitable for their level of learning.
The magnetic boards will challenge their skills and work on their dexterity. They will enjoy learning while also playing at the same time. Magnets are exciting to preschoolers! The additional resources will provide different ways to expose them to these skills. As they are learning these basic skills, they will build fine-motor strength to be able to write, color, and cut later in the year and beyond preschool.
