This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When young people are able to see themselves in books, they are more likely to be engaged and willing to read. So many of my students don't see themselves as readers because the books made available to them don't match their interests or they can't see themselves in the characters.

The books that I am requesting come directly from my students.

These are books that they are interested in or are similar to books that they've actually read and were engaged by. My hope is that I can continue to foster a love of reading in my students and motivate them by giving them high-interest books.
