This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students with disabilities often struggle with independent tasks or small group social play. My classroom mornings are structured around allowing students to navigate tasks on their own and build up social stamina to use language to solve problems and create things.
Structured play is a great opportunity for students to learn without extra pressure or challenges.
These activities such as Connect and Stretch Builders and The Mystery Box, are all things my students can do on their own or in a small group. They will benefit from completing tasks with peers and utilizing social language to learn new skills. In addition, the creative activities will allow them to explore manipulatives together and use their imagination to create!
