My students need basic supplies to enable them to practice the skills that I teach them and apply them in everyday life. The resources such as blocks, games, and puzzles will support math, literacy and science.
Our school is a great example of what can be done when a committed community rallies behind their local school. We are committed as a school to ensuring that all students learn and grow. Our staff, families, and community realize that to reach a diverse group of learners we need to be innovative!
Our students come from various backgrounds but they all have one thing in common - an intense thirst for knowledge!
They take advantage of any and all opportunities to learn and grow. Although some live in poverty, they refuse to let anyone's preconceived notions define them. Anyone who has spent a day with our scholars realizes that they are determined and focused--and nothing will stop them from reaching success in the present and in the future!
My Project
The resources will allow me to set up learning stations around the class so that each student can practice skills individually whilst I teach other students in smaller groups. This approach allows for differentiated learning in the classroom, and will meet the needs of all individual learners.
We will use a pop up tent as our library and Wikki sticks to develop fine motor skills, build a weather station, laminate our written names, do puzzles and board games, make crafts and hang to display and create with blocks and legos.
An individualized learning approach will enable the resources to maximize opportunities for students.
