This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a group of kids that persevere and love to learn. I have students who tell me they want to be at school all of the time (even weekends). They are an amazing group of kids who truly learn with a growth mindset. We have been working on social skills to set a good foundations for their years to come in school. I strive to model having a positive attitude no matter the circumstance and make sure my students live by the golden rule. I look at my class and realize these tiny humans are our future. Our students deserve nothing but the best education, and I plan to give them that with your help!

My Project

Kindergartners often learn best through exploring and using hands-on materials. Our classroom should be able to meet the interests and needs of all learners, but with 21 little minds it isn't easy with what I have.

I want my students to write with tools other than just pencil and paper-- that's boring!

We need chalk, dry-erase markers, Lite-Brites, boogie boards, and magnetic boards to differentiate and spark interest. Students need an easel to watch as I model how to read and write sentences.

I want students to use games to build words so they can form sentences. Kindergarten is such an impressionable age and I want them to learn to love reading early on.

If my students have engaging materials they will be able to work and learn independently in centers while I work with small groups on essential skills.
