My Students

My amazing students make up one of four fifth-grade classrooms in a diverse school of about six hundred students and one of two inclusion rooms. Together, we are part of the largest elementary school in our district.

These incredible fifth graders come to school fully trusting me to provide them with opportunities to grow and succeed.

With working in an inclusion classroom, we have a variety of needs, from low performing academic to behavioral needs. These students deserve a learning environment that matches their needs, creative lessons that challenge their thinking and continuous support to prepare them for the future. It is my goal to make sure I have all of these things in place so they can reach their full potential.

My Project

This year we are faced with more challenges than I ever thought possible. We are fortunate enough to currently be face to face but with that comes numerous restrictions.

While in class students need to remain socially distant, this will present a problem when we have indoor recess.

Students are not to share materials so I would like to have some craft materials that students can use independently at their desks and tables. Perler beads and pony beads will provide the opportunity to create crafts like key chains and magnets. These crafts will also help work on fine motor skills and following directions.

Thank you for your help with providing fun materials to help get students through a year filled with additional requirements.
