Independence Is Key, Part 2

Help me give my students organizational success to create independence to build their self esteem.

My Project

I am asking for the drawers to a previously funded organizational storage area to help keep my students organized. Students that are organized will in turn help them become more independent with their classwork and possibly even in life. Before kids come to kindergarten they rely on their parents to do a lot for them causing them to be dependent on them for many tasks and skills. During the pandemic, students were forced to work and play at home where their parents continued to do a lot for them and they did not get to gain independent learning skills that are much needed for future grades and life. Kindergarten is supposed to be a time when students develop independence from their parents. Because of COVID many students did not get to experience that independence and are still struggling with organization and the feeling of being an independent learner. The Storage trays that I am asking for will fit inside the Classic Birch All-Purpose Classroom Storage Tray Center that I previously got on DonorsChoose. These trays and storage centers will create a way for students to put their work and papers away without teacher help. Students who feel independent tend to have higher self-esteem as they do not need to rely on the adult help that many relied on so heavily during COVID. My goal is that students should leave kindergarten feeling successful and confident in their abilities and be able to take control of their learning by being independent. Please help my students reach their goal of being independent learners as independence is key!
