This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are the best, hands down. They are funny, kind, and loving. A lot of my students walk to school everyday, even through the rain, because they are trying to get their education. Once at school, most students try and work hard.
School can be difficult, especially when sitting still in a chair for most of the day.
Many of my students have ADHD, low attention spans, or even just the wiggles. I want to open up my classroom into a space that they feel like they are in control of, where they can take responsibility.
I am hoping to be able to give back to my students, and show them that there are so many generous and kind people in the world!
My Project
I am asking for a set of 24 round carpet mats, and 36 interlocking books bins. These will be a huge help in my classroom.
This year I am focusing on helping my students become more responsible and have more independence in their learning.
The book bins will allow students to be flexible and not have a desk. The carpet rounds allow for students to choose a place in the classroom to learn best, and still be able to sit on a carpet.
Do you always sit at a desk to do your work? I want to give my students the same choice and chance to learn somewhere else!
