My classroom is an interactive learning environment filled with questions, investigations, and encouragement to find as much knowledge as possible about science and prepare for future science classes in college.
My students attend a Title I school. They are poor, socioeconomically disadvantaged, and have a thirst for knowledge and belonging. Their scores on standardized tests are improving in all areas except reading. Creating a classroom library and encouraging reading will help our students improve their reading skills, which will be evaluated on a yearly basis. Unfortunately, our school does not have the funding to supply my classroom due to proration.
I would like to create this science AR library in my classroom to help my students in four ways. First, to improve their reading skills through practice and comprehension testing. Secondly, to help the students retain information taught in class. Thirdly, to help them improve scores on standardized science tests. Lastly, I want to increase their reading and knowledge level to help them succeed in future science classes in college.
Your contribution will ensure success for my students in all of these areas for many years to come.
