My Students
My classroom is a place of exploration and discovery of the world around us! These first graders all come with their own personalities and backgrounds and one of the best ways we can learn is through collaboration and positive communication.

Throughout the year my students will problem-solve in the land of math, explore our amazing world through science, write about our opinions and the facts we have learned, and read every minute that we can! My students constantly strive to absorb as much information as possible and they learn best in a classroom that provides them with the tools they may need to continue exploring.
My Project
First grade is when students truly begin to develop their writing skills. At the end of first grade, my students are expected to write a five sentence paragraph independently, a skill which takes practice!
In this project, I am asking for tools which will help develop my first grade students' writing skills.
The project includes composition books with first grade appropriate lines and fun writing prompts to create a positive writing environment. Throughout the year, students will also need to practice spelling more complicated words, and the phonics tubs will be used to push students to sound out unknown words in their writing. Thank you for providing my students with the tools to increase their writing abilities!
