This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very eager to learn! They love school, and love working together. We have a great classroom community where everyone feels comfortable enough to share, and to take the risks that lead to learning new things. I am so excited to see the amazing things that they will accomplish this year!

My Project

Students have been impacted by COVID-19 and have been impacted by the additional stressors effecting their families because of the virus. Students are unable to learn when they do not feel safe. Some of these materials will help my students to learn emotional regulation skills which will help them to navigate the world as we work through problems that many of us have never encountered before.

Some of the materials aim to increase students feelings of belonging.

We have many cultural and personal differences in our classroom. These books will help me to highlight our various experiences and will help my students to feel that their culture and experiences are valued.

We are learning about Rocks, Soil, and the water cycle. These Science materials will help me provide hands on learning opportunities for my students.
