Increased Engagement During Remote Learning With Dry Erase Boards

Help me give my students dry erase lapboards, dry erase markers, and dry erase erasers to be distributed individually and used during remote learning in the fall.

My Students

Our school is in an urban setting attended by over 900 students. About 70% of students receive Title I funding, thus 100% of our students are on the free and reduced lunch programs.

My students are from varied ethnic and racial backgrounds and have recently come to US schools and exposed to the US education system.

They have to adapt during remote learning using materials and resources available at home or provided by me, their teacher.

These ESL students are very resilient and work hard to adapt in their new environment while navigating through hardship, trauma, and other challenges presented by their migration to the USA.

My Project

Dry erase boards and markers will be very helpful during remote instruction in the fall for my ESL students, most especially the primary students who are needing a lot of work and practice with phonics instruction.

Learning becomes more fun with these materials and having extra supplies of dry erase markers will allow the students the opportunity to use these supplies throughout the school year.

When students are having fun, engagement levels increase plus students who are timid and shy will have a different avenue to show their work other than speaking. Thank you for your support of my desire to provide the best way of teaching this coming school year. These materials will really go a long way, and I thank you in advance for your kindness.
