Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 6th grade Language Arts and Social Studies in a low-income school. Our school is committed to creating an academic community that is focused on rigor and equity within the classroom and the larger school community.
My students excel when they are able to make meaningful connections to what we are learning.Using a variety of visuals (images, charts, etc.) and student generated work helps them connect to the curriculum and reach the next step in their learning process. Utilizing technology to provide my students with these experiences on a daily basis will engage them in their own process of learning, discovery, and achievement.
An Elmo multimedia projector will enable me to easily utilize materials such as images and student generated work to enhance my students' learning experience. They will be able to model their own work to their peers during lessons. The elmo will not only enhance lessons with important visual aids, but it will give my students the validation they deserve by allowing them to display their work to the class, contributing to our continual process of becoming a collaborative learning community.
You will make it possible for my students to participate in the rigorous educational experience they deserve.
