My students have the ability to build strong reading skills, but need someone to believe in them. They enter the classroom every day, putting their best foot forward and making attempts to progress. They want to learn, they know they need to learn and I want to do the very best I can to teach them. I couldn't pick a better group of students to work with. I am very honored to be their teacher. I can't wait to see their progress.
My Project
Receiving these materials for my classroom will transform the way in which my students will integrate science, technology, engineering and math and to build their reading stamina within the classroom. Learning how to read can be a difficult task for my students each year. Sitting and quietly reading at a desk is not the way we as adults read on a daily basis. We tend to find comfortable seating and place our bodies in the most comfortable position and then begin reading. Flexible seating like Gaiam Kids Stay-N-Play Ball, and the Big Joe Lumin SmartMax Fabric Chairwill allow my students the opportunity to do the same. To choose a place to sit anywhere in the classroom and begin building their reading stamina. The supplies for Stem will allow me to create a STEM area within my classroom, where students get to design, build and construct their own structures within the classroom using various materials.
