My Project
Books, materials, and resources that promote inclusion are not just helpful—they are essential in helping me grow into the most inclusive and responsive teacher I can be. In my classroom, I serve a beautifully diverse group of learners, many of whom are English Language Learners or have special learning needs. My goal is to make sure every child feels seen, heard, safe, and valued, and to do that well, I need tools that support both their development and mine.
With the support of future donors, I will be able to provide diverse books for my students that reflect a range of cultures, languages, family structures, and abilities—books where they can see themselves and learn about others.
I will also add inclusive and representative dolls to our classroom play and learning spaces, giving students opportunities to engage in social learning that respects all identities. A teacher planner will help me stay organized and intentional in tracking accommodations, language goals, and student needs so I can better differentiate instruction.
In addition, professional development books focused on inclusion, neurodiversity, trauma-informed practices, and equity in education will allow me to deepen my knowledge and refine my teaching strategies. I am always learning, and these resources help ensure that my growth directly benefits my students.
